Project: Safe Homes, Happy homes Stop GBV CHAMPIONS
TEWDI Uganda collaborates with UGANET, TASO Uganda and the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development to implement the Stop Gender Based Violence CHAMPIONs Project, funded by the Global Fund. This initiative is part of community systems strengthening aimed at preventing and addressing GBV response challenges so that the survivors of GBV have access to timely support at different levels. Through this project, we sensitize and engage religious/cultural leaders, health workers, police, local council leaders, civic leaders, perpetrators among others. Through this project, we identify GBV victims /survivors who are failing to access services /justices at different referral points and voice out their issues through different platforms with the duty bearers for timely support.
This initiative addresses gender-based violence through community engagement, survivor support services, and capacity-building of duty bearers. It promotes gender equality by reducing violence acceptance and fostering safe spaces for dialogue, support, and action.
