Project: Innovation, entrepreneurship and Life skills Training for young people.
TEWDI Uganda runs youth-centered innovation camps in Soroti in partnership with IDIN Uganda, MIT D-Lab, and the East African Resilience Innovation Lab. These workshops, aligned with school holidays, train young people in design thinking, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. The two weeks camp in January of every year engages around 50 young community members to co create or adapt technologies and entrepreneurship skills. The project targets young people from 12 -19 years old who are very interested in learning, in enjoying, in being creative and innovative. The program cultivates critical thinking, hands-on problem-solving, and vocational skills to empower youth to create solutions to local challenges and build resilient communities. It inspires a new generation to design a sustainable future for all by fostering the empowerment of young people to tackle real world challenges in their schools and communities by teaching design innovation social entrepreneurship and sustainability.
